Subject: Absurd party report

The first one of the local DJ's was OK, though he didn't spin anything
that I would call real goa. The second guy pretty much sucked IMO, cheesy
boring melodies, his set had nothing to do with goa whatsoever.

Then a bit past midnight MindDreamer started spinning, he was very good.
Great full on, screaming goa, full of energy. Avi was great too, but I
liked MindDreamer just a bit better - he played some of my favourite
tracks. They both had good mixing skills and didn't play any tracks I
didn't like; but they didn't play any of the "new style" darker goa that I
like very much either.

It wasn't *very* crowded, but at least that gave you enough space to
dance. The crowd was very mixed, a few real goa people, a few obvious
students, and a few gabbers as well.

For my taste there was just a bit too much light all the time, but
the strobe was nice and powerful. The volume of the music could have been
louder IMO, but now at least you could talk with people. Also sometimes
the volume dropped for no obvious reason, perhaps the DJ's didn't monitor
the levels/metering properly or perhaps there was something wrong with the
mixing desk?

Anyway I haven't been to many parties with good full on goa yet, so
I danced wildly most of the time, and at 6:00 my legs were hurting and my
body was grateful that the music stopped :) If I didn't live so far away
from Nijmegen I would certainly go to Diogenes more often, it was a great
party for only 10 guilders.

Joris.
